Rubber Duckie World Expedition

Saturday, July 21, 2007

They were toys destined only to bob up and down in nothing bigger than a child's bath - but so far they have floated halfway around the world. And these bunches of rubber ducks are going to land on British shores after 15 years of journey. How interesting hehe.

Perhaps this is the arrangement of mishap turning into something of a fortunate incident. The cargo ship carrying the cargo met with a storm and the box was damaged causing the rubber ducks (there's turtle and frogs too) to be spilled into the sea. One good deed was that they help scientist to study the ocean current! [More news]

Sometimes I wonder what Gaia really arranges for us.

Home, IPPT and NSC

It's just so good to be back at home.

My wake up hours is actually motioned by timing and the sunrise. Singapore although also GMT+8, however the sunrise is actually later than that of Shanghai. I can get decent sleep till 8am in Singapore. Maybe it's the worry free, since the timing around 8am or so I will get up. But in Shanghai, I will wake up in the midst of the night/early morning to see what time is it. Initially I wasn't use to the sunrise in Shanghai, the sun comes up like 4/5 am which just dash all my sleeping modes thereafter....

Am back for a couple of things and especially for the notorious IPPT. Before taking I was having the notion of going through the motion to take for the sake of taking. Since I didn't really train all the while, except with the occasional run on Sunday morning at the park in Shanghai...I hate the feeling of failing initially, it wasn't like the normal feeling like you take you should pass and get off from that record. So I was just like persuading myself to go just for the sake of recording purpose. Seems to me either 1) Miracle happens or 2) Some regular hard work pays off, for I managed to pass that hated chin up station! And thereafter with that thought it pushed me to really run hard in my 2.4km run and clear the whole thing as well! Timing was also unexpected...

Oh yes the other trip in Singapore was to go see the specialist at the National Skin Center for my acne and eczema. Sigh, wonder why so many problem, was it age catching up or just hereditary inheritances sigh... Alas doctor found another issue - brown spot sigh...Something that might grew lumps around the body or even affect the neuron (nerve), Doc asked me not to worry as I have been living for 27 years and been through the army so it should be fine. In my heart I am like oh yeah if my luck is bad I might have be gone before liao, I should count on my good blessing then...
